Project Highlights

Intensify Teaching Innovation, Strengthen Scientific and Technological Application, Sustainable University Administration:

1. Outstanding performance in notable international competitions:

in the academic year of 2021, we guided students to winning several indicator international competitions including: 11 Red Dot Design Awards (Germany), cumulating a total of 52 Red Dot Awards won in four years, International Council of Design (ICoD) Special Award with 100,000 NTD prize, American architecture competition Architecture MasterPrize Honorable Mention, 2021 Golden Lotus International Design Competition for Students (Macau) Bronze Award, Häfele International Design Competition (Germany) Bronze Award, Teron Scorrevoli Award, and the Taiwan Good Design Award Student Conceptual Design Gold Prize.

2.Combining professional and sustainable development to cultivate interdisciplinary talents:

Since the academic year of 2016, we have promoted interdisciplinary certification courses, encouraging students to obtain interdisciplinary certificates, improving employment competitiveness. In the academic year of 2016, the percentage of interdisciplinary certificates to the total number of general certificates was 0.5%. In the academic year of 2018, interdisciplinary certification course was included in the university's development goals, and interdisciplinary certificates percentage increased to 8.3% in the academic year of 2020.

3.Continuous implementation of ESG sustainable development:

In response to the needs of industry talents, and focusing on the implementation of university social responsibilities, we integrated the United Nations Sustainability Goals (SDGs) into teaching to deepen talent cultivation and promote the nuances of sustainable university administration. In 2021, in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), our first edition of the Sustainability Report was completed and passed the verification and approval of the British Standards Institution (BSI) in October 2021. At the same time, we participated in the "Corporate Sustainability Report Awards-University Category" of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy and received the Bronze Award as further affirmation.

2021 was an important milestone for the university's promotion of sustainable development. The sustainability report has been in line with international standards and has become an important guiding platform for university administration as well as an essential channel for communication with stakeholders. In the academic year of 2021, our university had 137 courses linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the future, we will continue to review key sustainability issues, conduct impact assessment, and focus on the process of communication, negotiation, and consensus formation with stakeholders in accordance to the GRI guidelines year by year, making the sustainability report an important guideline for university administration performance.
